This can be achieved through: Clear and continued communication between GPs and employers The right information at the right time Realistic understanding and expectations of what each person can provide Conference organised by MINDFUL EMPLOYER™ |

'Making it Happen: Promoting Positive Mental Health & Well-being' - Wednesday 11th October 2006 will mark World Mental Health Day 2006 and launch The Wellbeing Project Community Interest Company.
This conference is a must for professionals who are looking to learn the latest about the well-being agenda so that they can inform local policy and decision-making.
The internationally renowned speakers will shed light on the well-being agenda from the perspectives of health and social care, including the influence on primary care.
"True well-being is more than just the absence of ill-health, and more than mere 'happiness'. It embodies our most basic human goals - to flourish, to thrive and to live a fulfilling life. Well-being is a powerful concept and at nef (the new economics foundation), our aim is to position well-being at the forefront of policy and practice."
Dr Sam Thompson, centre for well-being, nef (New Economics Foundation)
"People in power and with responsibility are finally waking up to the reality that setting up sustainable activities, infrastructures and interventions that minister to the minds of citizens is not a soft option but a requisite choice based on the hard scientific evidence of how we are all wired for health both internally and in terms of our relationships with each other. Individual wellbeing is a nation's most precious asset and economic productivity, caring social behaviours and optimal personal health cannot be realised without it. Primhe greatly welcomes the opportunity that this conference represents to proclaim these vital messages from the rafters. Without a sustained commitment to them, the nation will flail and flounder, no matter what the political ambitions might be."
Dr Chris Manning, CEO Primhe

Description:

A full day conference featuring the launch of Integrated Health Associates,
a membership network for regulated healthcare professionals.
Join Phil Hammond for a day of inspirational keynote presentations and practical workshops
to explore new ways to deliver integrated health across the UK - one patient at a time.
Following the successful launch of the Foundation’s GP Associates a year ago, its steering group and the Foundation have worked closely to develop and extend this network to nurses, midwives, physiotherapists, osteopaths and chiropractors - the Integrated Health Associates (IHA). I am writing to invite you and your colleagues to attend our conference, New Horizons for Integrated Health, at which this exciting new initiative will be launched on 21 November 2006 at the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists
27 Sussex Place, Regent's Park, London. Registration fee: £75.00. For more information or to register for the conference, please visit our website - www.fih.org.uk
The strength of the IHA lies in its breadth, diversity of professional expertise and collaborative work ethic – something you know about from your own experiences – but most importantly, the IHA will be a national network of committed health professionals working together to make an integrated approach to health the norm, rather than the exception.
Your achievements in integrated health services have played an important role to date and, by joining together with other integrated health service providers, through IHA membership, your combined experitse will unite to form a crucial partnership in evolving the healthcare model.
Integration is the healthcare of the future we hope that you will join us at this exciting and inspirational conference and be a continuing part of developing a truly 21st Century health service.
Best wishes,
Clare
